Double Woven: A History of Cherokee Rivercane Basket Collecting, 1690–1947

Multicolored, split rivercane baskets and basket weaving have long been synonymous with Cherokee craft traditions, particularly baskets produced for and sold to vacationing tourists during the twentieth century by members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) on the Qualla Boundary in present-day western North Carolina.
